ExpressVPN rolls out full U.S. server network to meet rising demand for local privacy

BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS; July 10th 2025 — Leading consumer privacy and security company ExpressVPN today announced the completion of its U.S. network expansion, with high-performance servers now available in all 50 states.
The rollout comes at a time when access to information, platforms, and services increasingly depends on where people live. State legislatures are passing rules that influence which sites stay online, how platforms collect data, and what kind of content requires verification. The result is a growing divide in how Americans experience the internet, shaped less by technology and more by policy.
ExpressVPN’s network expansion responds directly to that shift. The new locations are built on TrustedServer, a RAM-only system that clears data with every reboot. Each server also runs on Lightway, ExpressVPN’s open-source VPN protocol—now enhanced with Lightway Turbo—to deliver higher speeds through smarter multi-tunnel routing while maintaining reliability.
That combination of performance and presence reflects the company’s core focus.
“We want to meet users where they are,” said Shay Peretz, Chief Information Officer at ExpressVPN. “People want privacy that works with the rest of their lives. They want tools that match the digital environments around them, without friction. Our goal is to make that possible without sacrificing security or speed.”
The expanded network now includes 62 U.S. server locations, covering all 50 states for the first time. Previously, ExpressVPN operated 24 server locations across the U.S. With the addition of 38 new locations, users can now connect to a server in every state.
All ExpressVPN servers are physical, and a selection of locations are served virtually—with traffic routed through nearby physical servers. This setup ensures that users receive an IP address that matches their chosen state, while still benefiting from fast, secure, and reliable connections. Some cities, including Los Angeles and New Jersey, host multiple servers to support higher demand.
ExpressVPN’s server expansion follows a clear demand. Americans are connecting through an increasingly fractured internet. ExpressVPN’s nationwide rollout gives users access to consistent privacy protections, regardless of where they live. It’s a network built to handle the internet as it actually exists, shaped by policy, infrastructure, and the choices people make every day.
